How It All Started…
Early last fall (2023) I took an interest in a reel I had watched, showing the viewer how to needle felt the perfect little ghosts for Halloween decor. I fell in love and immediately ordered my first needle felting kit and went to work. I made ghosts, leaves, turkeys, and pumpkins as quickly as I could to decorate my home for the season.
In December, after the death of my Papa, I stopped by a CVS on the way to be by my Oma's side. She has collected teddy bears my entire life, and I could feel deep down, that she needed something to hold. It felt rushed and a bit impersonal as the selection was slim.
After the rush of the funeral and now left to grieve; I put on my Papa's oversized cardigan and began to needle felt a red heart. As I began wrapping the first layer the scent of my Papa caught my nose. His cardigan still smelled like him.
As I sat there felting and wiping away tears I thought, “Everyone should have something to hold while they navigate the ups and downs of life.”
Thus, Lovely Little Homemade's- Lovely Little Heart Collection was birthed. My goal, is that these simple wool hearts bring a great deal of comfort to those that need them. That even in our most difficult human moments, we know that we are not alone. Even more, we know that we are loved.

Hello Friend! First of all, thank you for popping in and checking out my site! My name is Brandie Banks. I am a Mama, a Wife, and a creator/inspiring artist.
I have always worked very closely with those who are grieving. Specifically, those who are grieving the death of someone they love. When I stepped back from that work to manage a chronic illness, I had PLENTY of time to put my hands to work. Needle felting, painting, and writing filled the space of a once booked calendar.
I truly believe that all we have is each other and that love doesn’t have to be a grand gesture to show you care.
